Space Mission – Gunslinger

Greeting Space Cadets!!!

You need not fear us, we come in peace and only wish to supply you with information. And today’s out of this world mutterings concern Space Missions.

Space is quite literally the Futurama frontier, it’s where us Addicts boldly go to fight intergalactic villains and to gather resources. Want to know more? If so, join us after the fold.

So where are we off to today space raiders? Oh yes, you’d better buckle up cause we’re heading to the Moon to take a closer look at Gunslinger.

Mission Name: Gunslinger
Mission Location: Moon
Objective: High Noon On The Moon Lasts All Day
Number of Paths: 3 (as labelled in image below)
Fuel Per Stop: 1
Total Fuel Required to complete all Paths: 45 (14 for Path 1, 15 for Path 2 and 16 for Path 3)
Required Character: Fry
Recommended Character Level: 5
Helpful Character/Level: Ramblin’ Rodriguez – gives you another answer option to choose in Interaction Duels, and his choice will give you +10% on the odds of the other option available. So basically he gives a better chance of a Succesful Duel than any other character.
Maximum Crew: 5
First Time Path Completion Rewards:  2 Giga Career Chip, 60 NixonBucks, 5 Pizza, 25 XP
Repeat Path Completion Rewards: 2 Giga Career Chip, 28 NixonBucks, 5 Hypnotons, 5 XP
One-Time Reward for 100% Completion: 10 Pizza, 50 Nixonbucks, 40 Hypnotons
Combat Rewards: n/a
Interaction Duel Rewards: Tombstones & xp (Path 1 you’ll get 1 Tombstone per Succesful Duel, Path 2 you’ll get 2 Tombstones and Path 3 you’ll get 3 Tombstones – and if you Succesfully Duel at the end against Crushinator you can look forward to 4 Tombstones)
Artifact: n/a

As you can see the Gunslinger Mission has 3 Paths to be completed, we’ll simply call these Path 1, Path 2 and Path 3. Path 1 tends to be starting point, it’s the easiest and frequently unlocked Path.

There’s also a little twist on the Interaction Gameplay. These are now Virtual Duels, where you can choose to spend 1 Bullet to try to kill your opponent, if you succeed you’ll win Tombstones. Now your odds of winning can be as low as 20%, 30% and only ever rise as high as 40%. And the amount of Tombstones you will get for a Succesful Duel is between 1 and 4, it’s impossible to simply breakdown how many for any particular Duel as there are too many variables. But just know you’ll be rewarded at least 1 and at most 4, but only for a Succesful Duel. A Failure will see your Characters health depleted.

Addicts Tips: Couple things I’ve found playing through this, obviously first just going along each Path skipping every Duel will earn you the Path Tombstones, that’s 30 you can have without engaging in any Duels. Also I’ve found Path 3 is the most rewarding, so if your looking at a Path to repeat then choose this one AND only pay a Bullet to Duel when the odds are 40%, skip the lower odd Duels apart from on your final stop, I always give it a go. For Duels choose your higher Level characters, as failures won’t deplete their health as quickly. And finally don’t use Scruffy, Amy or The Professor on these Missions if you can avoid it, keep them making bullets.

So now we’ve got that bit out-of-the-way let’s move forward and follow a path, or 3.

  1. 1. Try to avoid using Amy, Scruffy, or anyone else who makes bullets. (Well, you HAVE to useFry.) If you run out of bullets during the mission, and you pause the mission, you can’t use that character to make more bullets. You’ll have to forfeit.

    2. This is a good time to use characters with nothing else to do. In my case, Hedonismbot, Hattie McDoogal, and Malfunctioning Eddie aren’t needed for any questlines, and their combat skills are irrelevant, so I send them on Gunslingers while my other characters are working on material-dropping tasks.

  2. What does the Bender Rodriguez option do? Is it just another run away option? If so, seems a rather redundant option as I have never had a problem running. Maybe, if there was a chance that running failed and Bender was a guarantee escape.

    1. Better chance of getting a success, basically gives you better odds of a success in the Duel, an extra 10% on the other options odds.
