Space Mission Snapshots – Dead On Arrival

Greetings Space Cadets!!!

You need not fear us, we come on a mission o mercy to give you a quick guide to getting started on the latest Space Mission to appear before us.

Space is quite literally the Futurama frontier, it’s where us Addicts boldly will find limited time Space Missions where you’ll fight intergalactic villains and gather resources essential to an Event.

These Space Missions can be complex and take considerable time to navigate, but sometimes we forget there is an easier way, a simpler path to success so to speak and these Space Mission Snapshots will be a very basic guide to help you plot the best course to complete a path. Remember this is not a guide to get 100% completion, you’ll find help with that once the complete guide goes up, this is just to help you on your way. And what way are we heading today? Well to Chapek 9 to plot a quick path through the Dead On Arrival Space Mission.

As you can see above Dead On Arrival is a complex maze of Paths that resemble a fiddle. Many of the paths require  unlocking with a high level Character and/or Class but for this snapshot guide we’re only going to take you through the easiest path to get you on your way and that path is unlocked from the go. You can repeat this path as many times as you want, fuel permitting obviously.

So now we’ve got that bit out-of-the-way let’s move forward and follow that path.

Path 1 – The easy, okay, easier Path!!!

***Please note this was updated on 10/10 to reflect changes to the Space Mission which saw Interactions added along many of the Paths***

Interactions: 2

  1. Butt Out (use anyone)
  2. In Go The Incubots (use anyone)

Path 1 Completion Reward: 4 Gasoline, 2 Giga Career Chip, 5 Pizza, 24 Robot Souls

WHAT WILL HELP ME COMPLETE THE PATH?

Ok, this isn’t a set in stone list, it’s just a bit of guidance based on my own successful run at this.

  1. Preferably 5x Crew Slots unlocked but don’t panic if you haven’t as it can be done with less
  2. A stock of Fire Bombs but again it is possible without them, I’ll tell you how in the Incubot section below
  3. A Level 9 Character, this is the least you’ll need, I advise much higher, Level 20 and above especially if you’re going into battle without Fire Bombs. Make sure to take at least 1 Robot and 1 Influencer. My Crew for completing the path was Fry L22, Leela L23, Scruffy L21, Amy L24 & Bender L22
  4. 47 Fuel
  5. If you’ve not got a stockpile of Fire Bombs you’re going to need a whole lot of patience

DEFEATING ENEMIES

Okay there’s a number of Enemies that will pop up over the 11 Combat stops, Chapek Guards, Chapek Robots, Anti Human Patrol and Robot Elders are mostly easy enough to defeat if you follow my advice by taking high level characters on the mission. However there’s one enemy that’s truly hellish to defeat, the Incubot, and you’ll encounter at least 1 at every Combat stop.

And they are as tough as they look, therefore this is where those Fire Bombs you’ve been making in the Bomb Factory will come in handy.

Basically as I said Incubots are a nightmare to defeat as they have a permanent high defence shield which means even if you critically hit them you on,y do -1 damage.

So if you don’t have any Fire Bombs you are going to have to slowly grind away attacking them until their health is full depleted, and in my game this took 10 minutes for 1 Incubot, in a Combat where I had 2 Incubots it took me 27 minutes to defeat them both without using Fire Bombs. So that’s just  1 Combat, multiply that by 11 Combats and you’re talking about 2 hours or more, to complete the Path without Fire Bombs. So we really don’t want to be doing that if we can avoid it. So keep your Bomb Factory at work and build up some Fire Bombs before you head into Space because hitting them with a Fire Bomb kills them outright.

HOW DO I USE A FIRE BOMB?

If you’ve got a Fire Bomb or few ready, they are easy to use, you just need start moving along the easy Path on Dead On Arrival and wait for a Combat stop. Once the Combat starts let the Fire Bomb charge, the Fire Bomb Icon looks like this when charging.

You’ll know its fully charged when three Fire Bomb Icon is back in full colour and not greyed out or filling.

Then simply tap the Fire Bomb Icon at the top of the Combat Screen.  You screen will darken and you will be able to select the enemy to Fire Bomb, be careful to choose the Incubot, you don’t want to be wasting Fire Bombs taking out the other enemies.

If you’re using a tiny screen device and find your accidentally wasting Fire Bombs on easier enemies, the best way to avoid any more oops is by defeating the other enemies first, only leaving Incubots before you tap the Bomb Icon.

However be aware the downside of doing it this way is whilst your defeating the lower level enemies, the Incubot will be inflicting damage on you. So be mindful of using your Robot and Influencer special abilities when available to protect your Crew.

This advice on utilitisimg Robots and Influencers is crucial if you’ve no Fire Bombs and you’re going to try complete the Path by grinding out Combats, you don’t want to be knocked out along the Path as revising and healing is a costly business. So don’t completely switch off to the action on the screen as you’ll need to keep those special abilities going.  And remember it will take a long time to defeat at least 11 Incubkts without Fire Bombs, so make you’ve ate and been to the potty before you start, lol. Once you complete the Path you’ll get your rewards, the amount will vary depending on how many Incubots you encounter.

And remember you can simply repeat this Path to keep collecting Incubot Metal, you dot need to go on to the locked paths unless you want to 100% complete the Mission.

And there you have it fellow space travellers, all the quick data on taking the easy route through Dead On Arrival? Have you tried this Mission yet? Did you complete it or find it Mission impossible. 1. 2 new interactions have showed up on the middle path today (they wasn’t where yesterday)

    Around midway:
    Interaction: Butt Out
Objective: Just make sure to call shotgun
Possible rewards: XP and Tera Career Chip

    And the end:
    Interaction: In Go the Incubots
    Objective: Lather. Kill. Repeat.
Possible rewards: Nixonbucks, XP and Tera Career Chip

Maybe they will add more to this map doing the event….

    1. Yeah 8 interactions have appeared, just as I got my big post complete, lol. Put as much info as I can in it for now. But thank so much for coming and sharing your info as well. It’s great when players help each other.

  2. Got Robot Gypsy today, happy it did not take forever to unlock her. Levelled her up so I can do the next path, which needed lots and lots of firebombs.

Being only level 20 in the game I keep running out of nixon dollars with all the needed levelling up for the event and continuing to advance the main questline on the way to Leela.

  3. For run 1, I’m not sure you need a captain or a robot. If you’re going to grind-out the battles, I was successful using one facilitator and 4 messengers. Here’s my thoughts:

It doesn’t matter on the attach what level the character is, it does 1 damage. The messengers reach their special attack quicker, so you get more attacks in.

I just got the Gypsy Robot, and tried a run; maybe the best strategy is to have 2 facilitators….

    1. Thanks Paul. Amazing how many of us have actually spent the time to grind out the path. And how many have shared how they did it.

  4. I did the easiest path a couple of times before I got the firebombs going. Just make sure you have a high-level Influencer to heal your team periodically. Kill the other (non-Incubot) guys, then just set the phone down and let them fight it out, hitting the healer when he’s charged up. Takes 15 minutes, but you can pretty much chill while it’s doing it. The special moves from the other characters don’t do much good, so save them for your next encounter to kill off the other guys quickly. I took a couple of big scientists and they pretty much take the other folks out with the special hit.

  5. I have found if you don’t have many fire bombs having 2 robots and at least 2 scientists work well. Hit the robots special move until the incubots are only doing one damage. Then I just let the game do its thing and check it again when the noise has stopped. If your on the gypsie leg and she is not above 25 you need to hit the robots special move multiple times before she only takes 1 damage. I just counted gypsie is at level 17 and it took 9 robot special moves. Of course the scientists helps most when there are 2 bots. That’s my observations and I hope it helps.

      1. Just tested and it works.
Defense bonus does stack and saved me from red bar health back to full green.
Attack bonus might stack too but the unique nature of the incubot defense practically nullify it.

  6. The long combat afforded by doing incubots without bombs has let me observe a few things. All observations done with level 21 Influencer Bachelor Fry, Robot Bender, Captain Leela, Scientists Amy and Professor. Also with level 16 Scientist Bill Nye. YMMV, do not ingest, do not allow to come in contact with water or feed after midnight.

Captains take 5 hits on an enemy to fill their special move.
    Influencers take 8 hits.
    Scientists take 10.

An enemy hitting a character gives them approximately the same special move credit as 2 hits. A scientist, for example, will fill their special move with 8 hits on an enemy and being hit one time. Influencer with 6 hits and being hit one time.

Successfully getting a critical hit or defending being hit still gives the same credit toward the special move.
Having the defense boost from a robot or successfully defending an attack saves about the same amount of damage.
The captain attack boost and getting a critical hit both boost damage by about the same amount.

From what I’ve seen, both the damage saved by defense boost or defending an attack doesn’t save a lot of damage (78 points w/o defending or boost, 71 points with defending or boost, Level whatever (9ish?) incubot versus level 21 Scientist). Given the same level of character, the amount of damage they take is dictated by class, and remains constant with the same foe. All my characters were about the same level and the incubots did the exact same damage with every hit. The amount of damage seems to correspond with the amount of special move they get (so damage determines how much they get). Example: 21 Captain Leela takes 84 points of damage while 21 Scientist Amy takes 78. Damage is also level dependent: Level 21 Scientist Amy gets hit for 78 points, level 16 Scientist Bill Nye gets hit for 91.

It is possible, though tricky timing, to trigger a special move in between being hit and firing off an attack. Example: Bachelor Fry was first up to attack, meaning immediately after the incubot attacked someone he was next to do something. Not wanting to waste any of his healing, I determined that if his special meter was filled by the incubot hitting him, it was possible to get his special move triggered before he attacked.

Futurama uses a lot of battery in my iPad.

    1. Wow, you really didn’t just let the battles run, you studied them. Thanks for sharing your info. And yes the Combats playing out eats battery on both my iPad & iPhone.
