Class of 99s #4 – Mind-Bending Levelling Up

Hey there Addicts

So it’s time for your characters to climb the career ladder, yes they’ve hovered in the lowly ranks for long enough and now they need to take that one giant step for man, robot, alien, mutant or woman kind to reach that coveted 4-Star rank that will see them start their journey towards the ultimate goal of being a Level 99 character.

And as you know I decided to do posts tracking my characters progress as they aim to join my Class of 99’s. Promoting characters to 99 is not easy but I thought we might as well have some fun along the way looking at the various characters that make the ultimate journey from 1-99 in my game. And who are we going to be looking at today? Well Bender, as he had the great honour of being the first Defender I took all the way to Level 99.

So why did I choose Bender? Partly because he’s Bender, and partly because, well he’s Bender.  So this promotion was heavily based on character preference.

So let’s break down what it will cost you to get our first Defender into the Class of 99’s and of course look at the benefits there are in ranking and levelling Bender up.  And to make it simple to follow I’ll break it up into his Star Ranks.

1-Star Rank Bender

Every character, including Bender, starts ranked at 1-Star, and at this rank Bender comes with the following passives:

Was He Worth It?

So is Bender a worthy promotion or a luxury you can’t afford?

Well in my opinion, and this is just mine, he’s  a very worthy promotion to at least 4 Star Rank as he’s a main story character and often used for higher gates on Mission paths. And he boosts all your crews defence in battles and makes them all a little tougher to kill.

Russian Tigger Class of 99’s!!!

So Bender is the fourth crew member to make it into my Class of 99’s. Who’ll be next? I’ll reveal all soon.

There you have it, the overall costs and benefits of promoting Bender. What do you think of levelling up so far? Any tips for fellow Players? Any characters you’d like to see at 99?  Let us know in the comments.

  1. so, lets be realistic, at 794,000 Nixonbucks per $100.00 that you pay, it would cost you $500.00 to level up Bender to 99…… is this worth doing?…..HAH-HAH!!!, or NO, NOT ME. but, apparently I missed something…” a new district” coming, still looking, but.. can’t get the artifact out of Decapod 10 “6. All Gloom No Doom” what’s up with that???

    1. No one can get the artefact, you’ll only be able do do once be t District is released, so you’re fine there.

Poor Bender, he had such high hopes of promotion, he thought he was worth it so, lol.

  2. Well, I’d probably recommend leveling up to 99 at least a few Scientist characters, for the major benefit of their multi-character attack (and all character special attack). It makes it more of a breeze to get through space battles. Just level up the right ones. I first went with Amy (for her chance of “charm” enchantment), and then worked on Robot Santa (special attack freeze enchantment), Bill Nye (chance of confusion enchantment), and then Neil Degrasse Tyson. Then I’d recommend working on at least one of each of the other types of characters. Hard to say which ones, as sometimes it’s just general types that are required for some space missions, and then there’s times they request specific characters/outfits that change a little from time to time. I would probably say work on at least one delivery boy character to begin with. This is for the added benefit of being able to use the better space mission path during the one day of the week that opens up the Richie Rich path in the Daily planet missions (Saturday night into Sunday for those in Eastern US). This would allow you to spend a bunch of time doing those missions to rake in a bunch of Nixon Bucks to help level up some more characters quicker. Of course as of this moment for the Cornwood event I would hazard a guess of trying to level up all the new characters/outfits. Being the fear that you might lose out on a way to get the special items needed for them to promote them (at the very least earn enough special items for their few promotions, and may be able to spend the nixon bucks and career chips to level them up later on).

    1. The faq does state that the essences will not go away and there will be a way to get more, it doesn’t say how.
Shouldn’t the last week have started already? I don’t have it in my game.

      1. Yes Week 4 has started.

Premium character essence will be collectible after the event but not the freemium outfits/character essence
