Class of 99s #6 – Roberto Takes A Stab At Level 99

Hey there Addicts

So it’s time for your characters to climb the career ladder, yes they’ve hovered in the lowly ranks for long enough and now they need to take that one giant step for man, robot, alien, mutant or woman kind to reach that coveted 4-Star rank that will see them start their journey towards the ultimate goal of being a Level 99 character.

And as you know I decided to do posts tracking my characters progress as they aim to join my Class of 99’s. Promoting characters to 99 is not easy but I thought we might as well have some fun along the way looking at the various characters that make the ultimate journey from 1-99 in my game. And who are we going to be looking at today? Well Roberto, as he had the great honour of being the first Villain I took all the way to Level 99.

So why did I choose Roberto? Quite simply because he was already my was my favourite of the few very Villains that were available when this Promotion madness hit. So it wasn’t based on passives, abilities, combat strategy or anything. Strategy levelling up was something I left for laterrr. So this promotion was heavily based on what I had available at the time. Funny how much the Villain class has grown since then.

So let’s break down what it will cost you to get our first Villain into the Class of 99’s and of course look at the benefits there are in ranking and levelling Roberto up.  And to make it simple to follow I’ll break it up into his Star Ranks.

1-Star Rank Roberto

Every character, including Roberto, starts ranked at 1-Star, and at this rank Scruffy comes with the following passives:

Villain’s Curse: Reduces enemy teas Defense.

Single Attack: Attacks one enemy.

And from here you can start levelling up Roberto to a maximum Level 10. The cost to do so is as follows:

Nixonbucks: 3840
Career XP: 2400
Career XP in Peta Chips: 3 Peta Chips *you can use other size chips of course*

Once at Level 10, Roberto cannot rise the level ladder any further until you promote him to a 2-Star Rank.

2-Star Rank Roberto

So now we need get Roberto promoted to 2-Star rank and here’s what that will cost and what it will get you.

Star Badges: 8 Generic 2-Star Badges
Nixonbucks: 3096

Promoting Scruffy to 2-Star rank unlocks the following passive:

Criminal Adrenaline: Remove deals 15% increased damage when he is full health.

Now Roberto is flouting his 2-Star Rank you can get on with the job of levelling him up to Level 30. And the cost of this is as follows:

Nixonbucks: 97312
Career XP: 60820
Career XP in Peta Chips: 63 Peta Chips *you can use other size chips of course*

Once at Level 30, Roberto cannot rise the level ladder any further until you promote him to a 3-Star Rank.

3 Star Rank Roberto

So now we need get Roberto promoted to 3-Star rank and here’s what that will cost and what it will get you.

Star Badges: 8 Villain 3-Star Badges & 8 Generic 3-Star Badges
Nixonbucks: 29304

Promoting Roberto to 3-Star rank unlocks the following passive:

Stab, Stab Stab: Roberts’s basic attacks have a 10% chance to cause Bleed on an enemy for 2 turns.

Now Roberto is flouting his 3-Star Rank you can get on with the job of levelling him up to Level 60. And the cost of this is as follows:

Nixonbucks: 705968
Career XP: 441130
Career XP in Peta Chips: 455 Peta Chips *you can use other size chips of course*

Once at Level 60, Roberto cannot rise the level ladder any further until you promote him to a 4-Star Rank.

4 Star Rank Roberto

So now we need get Roberto promoted to 4-Star rank and here’s what that will cost and what it will get you.

Star Badges: 8 Villain 4-Star Badges & 8 Generic 4-Star Badges
Nixonbucks: 119016

Promoting Roberto to 4-Star rank unlocks the following passive:

Now Roberto is flouting his 4-Star Rank you can get on with the job of levelling him up to Level 99. And the cost of this is as follows:

Nixonbucks: 2816528
Career XP: 1760330
Career XP in Peta Chips: 1815 Peta Chips *you can use other size chips of course*

Once at Level 99, Roberto cannot currently be levelled any further.

Total Costs

Just to make your eyes water here’s the total cost of getting Roberto from Level 1 to Level 99.

Star Badges: 8 Generic 2-Star Badges, 8 Generic 3-Star Badges, 8 Villain 3-Star Badges, 8 Generic 4-Star Badges, 8 Villain 4-Star Badges,

Nixonbucks: 3775064

Career XP: 2264780

Career XP in Peta Chips: 2335

Was He Worth It?

So is Roberto a worthy promotion or a luxury you can’t afford?

Well in my opinion, and this is just mine, he also scrapes into being a worthy promotion. This is because he gives me access to the higher gated Daily Planet mission paths combined with being his ability to reduce defence of enemies. But he’s not a natural choice for Battle and for me he will only be used when the mission dictates it as other Villains that have come along since are better.

Russian Tigger Class of 99’s!!!

So Roberto is the sixth crew member to make it into my Class of 99’s. Who’ll be next? I’ll reveal all soon.

There you have it, the overall costs and benefits of promoting Roberto. What do you think of levelling up so far? Any tips for fellow Players? Any characters you’d like to see at 99?  Let us know in the comments.

  2. How much has it cost you in Real Life dollars to do this? I cant match your pace even remotely? (Im so glad I managed to get 2 level 60 Cornwood characters…. thats going to pay off big time for me).

    1. This would cost a lot, more than I’d ever recommend paying, remember I have 2 gam s, my own one where I’ve still no level 99 characters and a test game in which TinyCo help out with some resources to let me pull site info. So please don’t compare your play to this. You’ve played smart with the Cornwood characters by sound of it, I did same in my own game.

      1. Yeah Im going to just fall short with Leegolas (however you spell it) which is unfortunate. The best I can get with her is about level 50, so Im probably going to cash in the essence later today for chips/resources instead. I dont have the 100,000 to upgrade or enough chips, and I can get one or the other, but not both. Not without the nixon chips mission. If only Id realised this plan a week earlier…. oh well.
