Class of 99s #3 – Absolutely Blobulous

Hey there Addicts

So it’s time for your characters to climb the career ladder, yes they’ve hovered in the lowly ranks for long enough and now they need to take that one giant step for man, robot, alien, mutant or woman kind to reach that coveted 4-Star rank that will see them start their journey towards the ultimate goal of being a Level 99 character.

And as you know I decided to do posts tracking my characters progress as they aim to join my Class of 99’s. Promoting characters to 99 is not easy but I thought we might as well have some fun along the way looking at the various characters that make the ultimate journey from 1-99 in my game. And who are we going to be looking at today? Well HG Blob, as he had the great honour of being the first Delivery Boy I took all the way to Level 99.

So why did I choose HG Blob? Partly because he’s fun, but also due to his ability to inflict heavier damage on enemies during combat.  So this promotion was partly personal preference and partly  based on combat strategy.

So let’s break down what it will cost you to get our first Delivery Boy into the Class of 99’s and of course look at the benefits there are in ranking and levelling HG Blob up.  And to make it simple to follow I’ll break it up into his Star Ranks.

1-Star Rank HG Blob

Every character, including HG Blob, starts ranked at 1-Star, and at this rank HG Blob comes with the following passives:

Delivery Boy’s Delivery: Deals a lot of damage to a single target.

Splash Attack: Attacks one enemy.

And from here you can start levelling up HG Blob to a maximum Level 10. The cost to do so is as follows:

Nixonbucks: 3840
Career XP: 2400
Career XP in Peta Chips: 3 Peta Chips *you can use other size chips of course*

Once at Level 10, HG Blob cannot rise the level ladder any further until you promote him to a 2-Star Rank.

2-Star Rank HG Blob

So now we need get HG Blob promoted to 2-Star rank and here’s what that will cost and what it will get you.

Star Badges: 8 Generic 2-Star Badges
Nixonbucks: 3096

Promoting HG Blob to 2-Star rank unlocks the following passive:

Fancy Words Mean Nothing: 15% reduced damage from Brainy enemies.

Now HG Blob is flouting his 2-Star Rank you can get on with the job of levelling him up to Level 30. And the cost of this is as follows:

Nixonbucks: 97312
Career XP: 60820
Career XP in Peta Chips: 63 Peta Chips *you can use other size chips of course*

Once at Level 30, HG Blob cannot rise the level ladder any further until you promote him to a 3-Star Rank.

3 Star Rank HG Blob

So now we need get HG Blob promoted to 3-Star rank and here’s what that will cost and what it will get you.

Nixonbucks: 29304

Promoting HG Blob to 3-Star rank unlocks the following passive:

Can’t Pierce This Blob: When HP is below 50%, HG Blob takes 15% reduced damage from all sources.

Now HG Blob is flouting his 3-Star Rank you can get on with the job of levelling him up to Level 60. And the cost of this is as follows:

Nixonbucks: 705968
Career XP: 441130
Career XP in Peta Chips: 455 Peta Chips *you can use other size chips of course*

Once at Level 60, HG Blob cannot rise the level ladder any further until you promote him to a 4-Star Rank.

Was He Worth It?

So is HG Blob a worthy promotion or a luxury you can’t afford?

Well in my opinion, and this is just mine, he’s  a very worthy promotion to at least 4 Star Rank as his full potential to inflict mire damage while in turn take no reduced damage. Basically he hits harder but is tougher to kill, he’ll last longer in tougher battles.  Add to this he’s a main storyline character and he’s worth the resources spent on him.

Russian Tigger Class of 99’s!!!

So HG Blob is the third crew member to make it into my Class of 99’s. Who’ll be next? I’ll reveal all soon.

There you have it, the overall costs and benefits of promoting HG Blob. What do you think of levelling up so far? Any tips for fellow Players? Any characters you’d like to see at 99?  Let us know in the comments.

      1. I got the professor to 4 star, but it took a number of fuel refills, more than i care to think about. And four hours…. of repetition. How on earth do i get a second character to 4 star… I cant afford to waste more pizza. Im guess i could try the four star mission with 4 level 60s and an 80 professor, but thats going to take a while to acquire too and risk failing still.

        1. That mission is tough with only one abi e 60, but not impossible. Levelling up is going take lot time. We are constantly asking TinyCo for more ways to get NB, Chips & Fuel, or to even speed up the fuel recharging. They’ve listened to lot of feedback, this can be seen in the Cornwood Event, so here’s hoping we see more help. Cornwood characters will be easier get 4 star but it’s putting in the resources knowing you won’t use them long term, but getting one them in the 60s using essence would give you better chance on 60 maps

  2. Sorry if you’ve covered this a million times, but how do you get the job specific 3-Star Badges?
I’ve gotten several characters to level 30, but that’s where they stay because I never have any luck getting the 3-star badges from the Daily Planet; just more generic 2-star badges on repeated trips.
Do you have to buy them? Am I just not lucky?
    Thanks.

    1. To level up in this character it took spending Pizza to run the Nixonbucks Daily Planet mission, this took great deal of my time.
